Hello I´m searching for informations from Rallye de causses Rouergats 1981, where Michele Mouton drove a Audi quattro. Found a Film which I can´t identify the place, could it be the Rallye de Causses Rouergats 1981? Saw that there was a report in the Auto Hebdo n° 261 1981, do anybody own this magazin and can help me there?

Here is the photo of Michèle Mouton in Auto Hebdo n°261.

 

It seems not to be the same car because we don't see the yellow part on the back of the car on your photo. But another photo would be necessary to be sure. I haven't the entry list.

I was doing some internet research into the Michele Mouton’s activities in the 1981 French Rally Championship and found this post, so I have become a member to respond to your query. I am British, so I have responded in English, so my apologies to any French readers.

 

Your screen grab of the film is unusual as the car is in Black Audi Sport colours with a start number 3 and pre-dates 1 September 1981 as it has the small oil cooler. I cannot tell if that is a BP logo in white on the side of the car? My knowledge of French Rallies is minimal and as such I cannot tell what event this may be, but if the rally ran twice in one year, may be this is the answer. Do you have any other shots of the car from the front?

 

As far as I am aware, the cars driven by Michele in the French events were in Black BP colours, as she was sponsored by BP. The Auto Hebdo 261 picture and other pictures taken at the Terre des Garrigues and Mille Pistes rallies show these cars. Her co-driver was Annie Arrii on some events and Fabrizia Pons on other (Mille Pistes)

 

Her car also appeared in Black BP colours for the 1981 WRC events Monte Carlo, Tour de Corse (with special bodywork) and Finnish 1000 Lakes. On the Portugal and Acropolis events, the car was in Black Audi Sport colours. The exception to this was pre-Monte testing, where she drove a White Audi Sport car with black BP logos (an early 1981 Echappement has an article with this car pictured). Only after San Remo 1981 did both cars run in White Audi Sport livery (Mikkola/Hertz IN NM-61 and Mouton/Pons IN-NL 88).
