[h1]Audi : un teaser pour le concept A9[/h1]

Le mois dernier, nous vous parlions d'un concept A9 qui préfigurerait le prochain style en vigueur chez Audi. La marque aux anneaux nous confirme aujourd'hui la chose avec un teaser annonçant le concept qui sera présenté au salon de Los Angeles le mois prochain.

 

 

Nous en parlions sur Caradisiac le mois dernier, le futur style de Audi est en pleine préparation et la première étape sera la présentation du concept A9, longtemps cité sur la toile et tant attendu. Il sera sur le stand du constructeur aux anneaux le mois prochain (dès le 18 novembre) au salon de Los Angeles, mais pour nous faire patienter (et aussi pour nous confirmer la présence du concept), Audi dévoile aujourd'hui une première image de ce concept.

 

Pour l'heure, peu d'informations ont filtré concernant ce concept. Certains parlent de la présence du V8 4.0 biturbo sous le capot (une version S9 serait par ailleurs déjà prévue). Bien évidemment, nous nous garderons de toute affirmation trop hâtive concernant la mécanique. D'autant plus que le lancement de cette A9 n'est pas prévu avant 2017. Le plus intéressant, au final, sera de découvrir les lignes de ce concept pour avoir une première idée du futur design Audi. Rendez-vous donc en novembre.

Testing on the next Audi A5 is underway ahead of a 2016 launch. These new spy photos capture the new A5 coupe on test at the Nurburgring in Germany.

They show an early test car mule, wearing cut-n-shut bodywork of the existing A5 around the running gear of the second-generation model.[h2]What’s new on the 2016 Audi A5?[/h2]

Designwise, the Ingolstadt grapevine is predicting an evolutionary approach to one of Walter de Silva’s very best efforts.

The A5 is unusually elegant for a mid-sized Audi; it’s one of the reasons why today’s A5 has changed so little in the seven years it’s been on sale.

Our sources in Ingolstadt predict a bolder front end with the now-trademark Audi singleframe grille, plus more aggressive and larger air intakes.

Expect to see the A5 coupe first, in spring 2016. Six months later, the A5 Cabriolet is due.[h2]Spec, engineering of 2016 A5[/h2]

Both two-door Audis are based on the B9 components set of the next A4. Dubbed MLBevo, the mildly modified architecture promises to be lighter, stiffer and more efficiently packaged.

It brings a longer wheelbase for more passenger room, optional 20in rims, extra-cost carbon-ceramic brakes all-round, innovative lighting by LED or matrix technology and a host of new assistance systems are in the offing.

The anticipated engine range in the new Audi A5 family looks like this:

Audi A5 2.0 petrol 245bhp 2.0 TFSI

Audi A5 3.0 diesel 258bhp 3.0 V6 TDI

Front- and Quattro all-wheel drive will again be offered.

Oui, enfin, "le changement chez Audi", ça reste encore à voir. Comme le constate le patron du style Peugeot dans ce reportage, la TT Sportback concept ne laisse apparaître que les habituelles évolutions proposées jusqu'à maintenant par les nouveaux modèles Audi par rapport aux anciens. Alors, évolution, c'est bien, mais à la longue, ça ne suffit plus, maintenant, c'est la Révolution qu'on veut!

Chez Audi, il sera bientôt l'heure de lever le voile sur la nouvelle A4.La marque aux anneaux n'est actuellement pas du tout à la peine pour vendre des voitures. Pourtant, le constructeur allemand n'est pas dans la meilleure position possible sur le segment des berlines familiales, qui représente le plus gros segment dans le monde.

 

Alors que BMW dispose d'une Serie 3 encore récente et que Mercedes vient de lancer sa nouvelle Classe C, Audi compose avec une A4 plus ancienne apparue en 2007 et restylée en 2011.

 

Heureusement, la relève arrive. La nouvelle mouture devrait être présentée avant la fin de l'année prochaine. En attendant le spécialiste RM Design propose d'imaginer son style. Evidemment, l'auto devrait ressembler à ses sœurs plus récentes. Reste à savoir si Audi prévoit quelques évolutions dans le style, on vérifiera ça bientôt.

Both are aging and while we’ve already talked about the Q7, it is now time to zoom in on the A4.

We’re waiting for Audi’s compact executive sedan to land next year and while we do that, here’s a rendering of the B9-generation A4. This might look a little on the odd side, since it resembles the current model perhaps a tad too much. That’s because this is an image of the current A4, wearing new front and rear fascias, as well as redesigned wheels.

 

Then again, this only mirror’s Audi’s obsession for making a religion out of the family identity. Nonetheless, the German carmaker has admitted they need to change the fact that all their cars basically look the same.

 

Thus, next month’s LA Auto Show will bring an Audi concept car that shall preview a new styling direction for Audi. Audi are dead-serious about this and they even hace a new design boss, Marc Lichte.

We can only hope so. The time frame would lead us towards a negative answer, but there’s an important twist here - so far, we’ve only seen test mules, which might just mean the Germans are planning to introduce their new styling with the B9 A4. After all, the 2015 release date for the car hasn’t been officially confirmed.

 

Anybody who’s seen the new Volkswagen Passat can confirm that, especially on the well-equipped models, the cabin quality has almost reached Audi levels. Well, you can imagine that the next A4 will be nothing short of a blast on the inside, introducing stuff such as an 8-inch MMI display we talked about in the previous spyshots.

 

MLB Evo platform underneath

 

Audi may have given us a taste of its new MLB Evo architecture with the Sport quattro concept, but the modular architecture will eventually underpin most of the carmaker’s models from the A4 upwards. Mixing ultra high strength steel with aluminum and composite materials, the new architecture will bring a weight cut of around 200 lbs (90 km).

 

The chassis will be more rigid, while the engine will be placed further towards the passenger compartment, which means the handling will be seriously improved.

 

Entry-level models will stick to front-wheel drive, but Audi is expected to revolutionize its quattro AWD. The central differential will be dropped, leaving the internal combustion engine to power the front wheels, while the rear axle will be motivated by an electric motor developing up to 100 hp.

 

With the new BMW M3/M4 and the Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG, the B9 Audi RS4 will need every bit of the aforementioned handling advantage. The rumor mill also sees the RS4 badge returning to the sedan, as the current generation only comes in Avant (station wagon) trim. Speaking of hot models, the line-up may be enriched with a spicy diesel model, which will probably be offered under the S, not the RS, badge.

We may have waited quite a lot for Audi to brings us a new A4, but we’re expecting the effort to be totally worth it once the compact executive lands."

Sous cette belle robe, on retrouvera la plateforme « MLB », la plateforme modulaire pour moteurs longitudinaux du groupe VW. What It Is: The next arrow in Audi’s quiver, which the German automaker will draw and aim at the entry-luxury horde. Seen here in camouflaged prototype form, the 2016 A4 sedan is being developed to go up against the rejuvenated Mercedes-Benz C-class, the stalwart BMW 3-series, and fresh competitors from Cadillac and Lexus.

Why It Matters: Today’s luxury brands are judged nearly as closely on the quality of their more-ubiquitous entry-level wares as on their long-wheelbase range-toppers. As such, the A4 is a critical model for Audi, even though the Q5 crossover barely edges it out in U.S. sales. To build more drama, today’s A4 not only sees external sales pressure, but it also faces an internal threat with the introduction of the smaller A3 sedan. The two are priced closely for now but the 2016 A4 will grow more expensive, and it will need to live up to that higher MSRP as well as outclass Benz’s luxe new C-class.

Platform: The 2016 A4 will migrate onto the Volkswagen Group’s second-generation MLB modular architecture. An evolution of the current A4’s MLB bones, MLB II will feature a more extensive implementation of lightweight materials, enough so that the car is expected to shed at least 200 pounds. Translated from German, MLB stands for modular-longitudinal architecture and orients the engines lengthwise in the body like a rear-drive car, even though non-Quattro all-wheel-drive versions are front-drive.

Visually, the A4 is expected to skew a bit edgier than its somewhat amorphous contemporary look. This is backed up by the covered-up test mule pictured here, which despite sporting a roofline nearly identical to the current A4’s, features a host of pointy edges and matches up nicely with our rendering of the car. The front fascia, for example, sports a pair of outer air intakes that wouldn’t look out of place on the latest TT sports car. The headlights, in particular, are squinty and more elongated than the current units, as are the taillights. Even the side mirrors are more angular and chiseled than before. Inside, the A4 will be one of a handful of new Audis to gain the same awesomely large TFT digital gauge cluster and latest-gen MMI infotainment controller that debuted in the 2016 TT; unlike in the TT, the A4’s fancy cluster will be augmented by a center-stack display.

 

 

Powertrain: A turbocharged 2.0-liter gasoline four-cylinder will once again be the volume engine, and the S4 should continue to pack a supercharged 3.0-liter V-6. As we reported in February, the next-gen RS4—which remains far from confirmed for this market—will drop its V-8 in favor of a V-6 strapped with a pair of turbos. Look for a four-cylinder diesel option on our shores this time around, as well as a plug-in hybrid e-tron model.

Other parts of the world can expect 1.4- and 1.8-liter gas-fired fours, as well as additional diesel powerplants. Transmission choices will include a six-speed manual and a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic. A base front-drive model may be available, but most A4s will be quipped with Quattro all-wheel drive.

 

 

 

Estimated Arrival and Price: After a mild delay, the 2016 Audi A4 will appear later this year before going on sale in the U.S. in early 2015. As is quickly becoming the gold standard for base prices in this segment, the starting line for the pricing structure will be at least $35,000. View Photo Gallery

Non, quand je dis j'y crois pas, c'est que je n'y crois vraiment pas. Ils ne peuvent quand même pas laisser un tel champ libre à la concurrence. Pour moi, ce sera 2015.

La série 3 BM est déjà has been, la nouvelle classe C n'est pas loin non plus, ce n'est pas du côté de la concurrence qu'ils vont avoir la pression. Seule la série 4 coupé & Gc de chez BM pourrait provoquer un soubresaut chez Audi.

T'as perdu des étoiles toi !?

Quand on est constructeur auto, il y a toujours forcément de la concurrence quelque part. Et il ne serait pas bon pour Audi de laisser trop longtemps sans réponse la place laissée vacante par l'A4 plus que vieillissante maintenant. Et ce qui me laisse penser qu'ils n'attendront pas 2016 pour réagir, c'est que l'A4 série spéciale "suréquipée" est lancée.

Je pense qu'ils vont la présenter au Salon de Détroit où l'A4 est une des Audi la plus vendue aux States. ( 17 Janvier - 25 Janvier )

 

Au niveau de la concurrence, la Série 3 se vend bien mais c'est surtout la Classe C qui se vend comme des petits pains en IDF.

 

Si Audi la sort en 2016, ils perdront beaucoup de clients dans ce laps de temps qui partiront chez les concurrents, surtout BMW qui a une grande gamme ( Berline, GC, GT, Break ).

 

Malgré qu'il y ait l'A3 Berline, elle reste trop petite & l'A6 est trop chère & trop grande.
