As I told before I tried to assembled the "RT3 WIki" code, but even with the mentioned correction I did not managed any visible results on the CDC emulator.
 
As far as I understood the emulator should also work without a PC attached, in this case the console should show "Load CD" and change the audio source. I never got that!!!
 
The only way I got something was when I tried yours "hex file". In this case the "Km meter" of my Peugeot showed ----- instead of the kilometers I had, and some lights in the console switched off. But the CDC button on the autoradio seems to have no action. When I switched off the emulator all went back to normal.
 
I have some doubts in the PIC programmer I used, specially related with the configuration bits to use and the PIC I should select (there are a lot of confusion between the PIC16F876 and PIC16F876A along the asm and inc files and schematics used along this project).

Long time since my last visit...
Which programmer are you using? If you plug the CDC emulator, you should not see any difference on the car. If you ahve weird light or messages on your dashboard, this is most likely an electronic error (VAN bus held in High state) or a PIC problem (the PIC can be damaged (I've had one that never worked!) or the progam is maybe not correctly flashed or woking...)
To test, you should set a LED to 1 at boot time to see if your program is running or not.
 
I'm using a PIC16F876 and the official programmer.
 
The Load CD text should not be displayed. The only thing to do is to push the CDC button on the headUnit.
 
There is a bug on wiki that show bad links for mail addresses.
 
I do not know how things are going. Since I've sold my 307, I cannot test anymore.
I've updated VirtualDash, but I do not have much time these days (I'm searching for a new job )

I think the BSI send request to the light switch to receive his status... does someone know which kind of commands I have to send???

Pour ma part, j'ai essayé le montage pour capturer les trames VAN : je me suis branché sur la fiche diag (11 et 12) de ma 607 : aucun resultat
la prochaine fois je vais essayer sur les 2 fils du bus VAN connectés derriere l'Ecran Multi Fonction.
Qu'est ce qu'il se passe si on inverse les fils VAN et NON-VAN ?
 
 
D'autre part, est-il possible d'apres vous de developper un 'driver mode kernel' sous winxp qui permettrait de recevoir et decoder directement les trames VAN en branchant les 2 fils du bus sur un port parrallele (avec une adpatation de niveau) ? le timing d'un driver 'mode kernel' (ring 0) est il suffisant ? Pourrait on faire du 'In Frame Response' sans problèmes ?

I don't know if a Peugeot 607 uses VAN or CAN buses. Think it depends on the manufacturing year. It's important to connect the +/- wires for the VAN interface correct or the monitor will fail to receive data.
 
A parallel port cannot be used to monitor the VAN since the timing is very critical. Maybe a TSS46x connected to the parallel port will work assuming the drivers and pc are fast enough. An other possible solution is a PIC with built in USB interface since a serial port is to slow to allow logging of all VAN packets.

 Hi, I think this has not been done yet. The emulator is meant
 to be controlled by a computer.
 
 The emulator code is available so it should be not so hard to
 modify it to work as a "dumb" adapter.

On utilise un adaptateur pour branché en série le lecteur mp3 et le changeur CD d'origine. Un boîtier de commutation est fourni pour choisir entre les 2 sources.

Just recently bought a Peugeot 307 -05 with a factory fitted Clarion RD3 unit. I have read that question have been raised as to where you can find Mini-ISO connectors. I searched all over the net and finally found a reseller that sells them. Look at www.conrad-electronic.com and search for Mini-ISO, you will find the yellow (unused in these purposes, right?), the green (for connecting an external amplifier) and the blue one - the one to connect the CD Changer emulator with.
 
I'm soon off to build my version of the emulator - I have a previous Panasonic-compatible project at http://q1.se/cdcemu/ for your reference.

I've notice there's a message (554) send from radio to display to notify there's some RDS text.
 
So... my question is...  
Has anybody tried to send this message while using cdc emulator to display a message like "MP3 playing..." ?

Hi people!
I am a 2006 Citroen C2 owner. It uses a RD4 radio (someone says it's a blaupunkt, someone else a siemens/VDO...) and it seems to use VAN bus like your peugeots.
 
So I built this circuit: http://louptiprat.free.fr/VAN/van.rar
and programmed the PIC (16F876-20) first with RT3WIKI's rev04 HEX and then with the HEX within the van.rar file.
 
I removed the RD4 and connected there the circuit.
In both cases, I can't capture anything: the power led lights, the activity led doesn't.
 
some questions:
- what about RS232 speed and settings?
- should I send "c<cr>" to start the capture?
- how can I check where is the problem?
- can you give me some hint to detect if my car uses VAN and I'm using the correct pins?
 
apart from this, reading on the internet I found that the SN75176 is a standard RS485 driver, is VAN == RS485? If yes, why don't you use a standard RS485 PC interface?
My goal is to develop a PIC based circuit being able to convert steering wheel controls to infrared codes and also acting as interface to the carputer (like your prototype should do...).

quick update: the circuit now works (problems with fuses, my programmer's SW misread them).

bon j ai pas eu le courage de lire les 20pages (feneant inside) mais j'aurai voulu savoir j'ai un rd3 sur ma 307 2002 (je sait pas si c est can ou van) je voulais faire le boitier moi meme pour avoir une entrée aux j'ai a dispo un chargeur cd qui deconne la voiture a le chargeur activé dans le bsi et j'ai le cablage de ce chargeur

Although an old one.. I'm still interested on it and lately I've been back on programming to parse the commands on my car (Citroen C3).
 
I'm going slow and do not promise anything, but I think that even that aproach is better than none at all.
 
Also, some of you have noted that the wiki has been compromised. I'm willing to take over it and clean it up.
