Hello there, i'am Marcel from Heemsker (pay-bas). 3 years ago i bought a mazda 818 coupe from 1977.
The first owner, a pretty old man, was to scared to drive it any longer.
The last few years the car had driven only 25km a year, to the garage for a checkup and back.
When i bought the car it had driven 59000km. Now its 62000km.


 
The car is in a pretty good shape, so there's nothing more to do than cleaning the car.
On the moment i'am cleaning the engine bay. The previous owner used lots and lots of ML, to preserve the car.
Well a picture says everything....

The car runs a 4 cillinder 1300cc OHC engine with  a 4 speed gearbox.
Top speed 145 km/h.
 
A few months ago, i fitted RX-3 taillights, for a more sporty look.

Hello, i had a 818 coupé de luxe in the eighties, it's effectly a very good car.
Look that for sale in 2006.

It sure is. I had my first 818 sedan over 12 years and drove it up to 200.000+ km. Besides rust, i never had any problems with the car
 
my first 818 sedan:

yesterday i almost completly dismantled the engine bay. Next week i'l try to get the engine out, so .i can start cleaning it up.

J'avais failli l'acheté cette 818 a un monsieur tres sympa au que j'avais eut au telephone deux fois, mais j' avais deja trop de voiture ^^

elle deviennent tres rares les 818.

Unfortunately i found some bad rust on the a-pillar.    
welding is needed.

 
the good news...last week i bought a nice piece for my collection on ebay.....  
Next thing i need is a projector, so i can see whats on it.

Today i finally finished cleaning the engine bay of my 818. Time to fix those rust holes on the a-pilar.

Looks much better, i think.  

Today i made the first step to rebuild my engine bay.

Nice car, seems to be in a reasonably good shape.
Serie's 1 818's are hard to find these days.

Correctif: cette Mazda reste enore ma propriété car je n'ai pas encore reçu le paiement de scal06200. Cela fait 15 jours que je l'attends.
 
Je remets cette voiture en vente. Le prix ne change pas.

After weeks of doing practicaly nothing, i finally found some time to work on my car.  
The engine bay is repainted and i made a start rebuilding the engine.  
the engine is painted in kawasaki green, looks great i think.

Retour pour la suite de ma péripétie de vente de ma Mazda à Scal06200:
 
Après une discussion au téléphone portable, j'annule ma vente à Scal06200 pour les raisons suivantes: Scal06200 a posté sans m'informer les photos de ma MAzda sur le forum le lendemain de mon envoi des photos sur son mèl personnel alors que aucun accord de vente n'était encore discuté, il se fait passer pour le propriétaire de la mazda alors que ce n'est pas vrai, je n'ai reçu aucun paiement pour justifier son intention d'achat de la mazda (depuis 2 mois maintenant que j'échange des mèls avec lui), il ne peut pas produire de chèque de banque donc je n'ai aucune garantie de sérieux.
 
Je souhaite faire appel aux amoureux de Mazda sérieux qui souhaitent acquérir le mien.
 
Ma péripétie avec scal06200 risque de compromettre toute chance de vente de ma mazda. C'est ce qui me chagrine le plus dans cette mésaventure.

finally it's starting to look like a car again. Next week i hope to place the engine back.

Last week, i made a start with putting the engine back where it belongs. :0)  
The green engine with the yellow body work makes a nice contrast i think.
