C'etait en rumeur depuis longtemps, surtout apres que BMW aie rejette Rover, cette fois c'est officiel.
 

 
Ford's Aston Martin to reunite with agent James Bond

Dearborn, Mich. -- Ford Motor Co.'s Aston Martin will replace Bayerische Motoren Werke AG as the automaker of choice for secret agent James Bond.  
The Aston Martin V12 Vanquish, with a sticker price of $228,000, will be featured next year in the unnamed 20th Bond film, to be released by Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Inc. The Vanquish will be the fourth Aston Martin in the film series that began in 1962 with "Dr. No," and the character's first new Aston since 1987.  
"It's almost like a spiritual thing with the company," said Simon Sproule, a spokesman for Aston Martin Jaguar Land Rover North America. "It puts Aston back on the world stage in a way no advertising could do."  
The switch comes as Ford attempts to increase sales of luxury models, combining the North American businesses of Aston Martin, Jaguar and Land Rover this month. Aston Martin, part of Ford's Premier Auto Group, built about 1,000 cars last year and plans to make about 200 cars in the Vanquish line annually. The V12 Vanquish goes on sale next month and is sold out through 2003.  
Aston Martin negotiated with Santa Monica, California-based MGM and Bond film producer Eon Productions for about 18 months, Sproule said. He wouldn't specify the amount Ford paid to have the V12 Vanquish included in the film. Munich-based BMW didn't immediately comment.  
An Aston Martin first appeared in a Bond movie in 1964's "Goldfinger," which featured a DB5 sports car specially equipped with ejector seat, oil slick sprayer and machine guns.  
The last Bond film to include a new Aston Martin was 1987's "The Living Daylights," which included a sports car modified with laser and missiles. More recent Bond films starring actor Pierce Brosnan featured BMW cars, though Bond also drove a 1960s DB5 in a few scenes of movies released in 1995 and 1997.  
The most recent film in the series, "The World Is Not Enough" in 1999, featured no Aston Martin.  
Ford shares fell 23 cents to $20.08. The Dearborn, Michigan-based automaker's stock has fallen 14 percent this year. BMW rose 52 cents to 35.99 euros, and has gained 3.6 percent since Jan. 1

The philandering secret agent, played by Pierce Brosnan, will drive an Aston Martin V12 Vanquish in the next Bond film, discarding the BMW Z3 roadster and 750iL that were his playmates in the last three productions.
007 has wrestled with an Aston Martin before, notably in 1964 when weapons specialist Q fitted his DB5 with an ejector seat and machine guns to help him take on Goldfinger and evil henchman Oddjob.
"We are thrilled that Bond fans will get to see James Bond back in the Aston Martin," said Robert Levin, an executive at the Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer studio that's making the film.
The twentieth instalment of the world's longest running film series is due for release in 2002, forty years after the first production, Dr No.

The V12 Vanquish can reach a top speed of 190 miles per hour and the 6-litre engine propels the car from 0 to 60 mph in 5 seconds. Q's chances of getting his Aston Martin back in one piece seem slim.  
That's unlikely to concern Aston Martin's owner, Ford, which has won a major publicity coup by shunting BMW out of the picture. Ford hopes the starring role will drum up more custom for a car that costs a mere $228,000.
BMW, whose relationship with Bond began when it supplied the police cars in 1983's Octopussy, was unconcerned by the loss.  
It's involved in 200 film projects and this year launched five promotional films, including one directed by Guy Ritchie and starring his wife Madonna.
"We've had a hat-trick, and are happy to hand over to Ford and Aston Martin this time around," said a spokesman for the Munich-based company.  
There's no telling when Bond could grace a BMW again. "Never say no, and never say never again," the BMW spokesman said.

James Bond revient enfin avec une Aston Martin, et pas n'importe laquelle !!

Je sais pas si ASTON Martin a une sante aussi bonne que Behem pour couper des vanquish (dans l'avant dernier ils en ont passées 9 au total entre les cascades etc)

Bonne nouvelle ! Un petit retour aux source ne fait pas de mal ! Et puis un espion Anglais en allemande, ce ne se fait pas !

Detail amusant, dans le precedent James Bond avec la Z8, le tournage a eu lieu alors que la voiture n'existait pas encore.
 
Pour certaines cascades, ils avaient utilise un model reduit echelle 1/2. Pour certaines prises, ils avaient egalement utilise la carrosserie de la Z8, posee sur un chassis Ford Mustang (si si c'est pas une blague).

D'ailleurs je subodore que la quasi totalité des films où il question de destruction de voitures avec beaucoup de $$$ sur le chèque n'utilisent en fait que des répliques pour les scènes de crash... Parce que bon, c'est bien gentil, mais les xxx prises où on doit envoyer une F50 flambant neuve à la casse, ça me parait un peu excessif pour le budget du film !!

Cool ! Mais le pb c'est pour les prochains films. En effet comme chacun sait, James change de bagnole à chaque fois.
Aston martin doit se dépécher de sortir un nouveau modèle pour le prochain film !
Remarque peut être que la nouvelle Jaguar sera prête d'ici là !

clair que ça va changer de toutes les mochetés des derniers opus (par ailleurs minables) de la série. Celà dit, vu le James Bond au rabais incarné par P. Brosnan, il aurait pu rouler en Toledo SDI que ça n'aurait choqué personne. Allez maintenant qu'il y a une vraie voiture, y'a plus qu'a trouver un vrai acteur
