The new Boxster and Boxster S
 
More sporty, powerful and self-assured
 
Stuttgart. Dr. Ing. h.c. F. Porsche AG, Stuttgart, will launch the new Boxster on 27 November 2004. The 2.7 litre six-cylinder engine will then have 176 kW (240 HP), 8 kW (12 HP) more than previously. The performance of the Boxster S, which will be launched simultaneously, has also been increased from 191 kW (260 HP) to 206 kW (280 HP), while cubic capacity has remained unchanged at 3.2 litres. The Boxster needs only 6.2 seconds to spurt from 0 km/h to 100 km/h, while the Boxster S manages this in 5.5 seconds. The basic model clocks up 256 km/h and consumes 9.6 litres Super Plus, in line with the EU standard. The maximum speed of the S variant is 268 km/h, while average consumption is 10.4 litres (EU standard).
 
The Boxster intends to extend its leading position in the roadster segment, by offering even greater driving pleasure while providing more active and passive safety. Larger wheels and a wider wheel alignment clearly emphasise the further development of the body form. At the same time they symbolise the increase in performance of the two models. The new front clearly shows the relationship with the 911 series but still features the typical Boxster face. The new lighting concept with the separation of main headlamps and front lamps with integrated fog lamps is characteristic of this.
 
When viewed from the side, the larger air vents before the rear axle, the bold door sills, the larger window in the transition from the B-pillar to the roof and the newly designed, larger rims are dominant. The 2.7 litre version now has 17-inch wheels as standard, while the Boxster S features 18-inch wheels.
 
In the new Boxster power is transmitted by a revised five-speed manual transmission and by a new transmission box with six gears in the S model. The gearshift had been revised for both transmission variants so that shift travel is now considerably shorter. Both vehicles can optionally be equipped with a five-speed Tiptronic S transmission. Boxster is the first roadster in the world to secure passengers against lateral impact using head airbags. In combination with a thorax airbag, which is concealed on the outer side of the backrest, the airbag shoots out from the side window rail of the door and provides a very high level of protection for the head.
 
The basic price is EUR 37,000 for the Boxster and EUR 44,100 for the Boxster S. In Germany, prices (including VAT and country-specific requirements) are EUR 43,068 for the Boxster and EUR 51,304 for the Boxster S. Adjusted for fittings, the new models are offered nine percent (Boxster) and six percent (Boxster S) cheaper on the euro markets compared to the previous generation. In the USA, the price for the Boxster is USD 43,800 and USD 53,100 for the Boxster S (excl. tax). The models will be launched on the US American market on 15 January 2005.

Et puis moi j'aimais bien les phares de l'ancienne...

il est vraiment bien ce nouveau boxster avec ses feux avant ressemblant à la 997. Par contre, effectivement, les jantes sont pas top, on dirait qu'elle à des pneux de 4x4!

Je ne peux pas dire comme ca rien que en voyant la nouvelle boxster sur mon ordi que je peux juger le physique d'une voiture il faut la voir en vrai car ca depend l'angle de vue si elle est photogenique ou pas c'est comme pour la 997 y en a qui vont la trouver laide mais lorsqu'il la veront en vrai ben leur avis va changer ca va etre comme ca pour la boxster je crois mais sinon pour moi la boxster reste toujours aussi superbe reste effectivement les jante a pneus taille haute xxl.... a suivre

Bien decoté mais largement moins decoté que la audi tt par exemple en tant que porsche blason prestige oblige

Je la trouve pas mal.
Il faudra voir avec de plus belles jantes.

Peux tu me dire stp ou as tu eu c'est photo de la new boxster ou quel site stp?

Moi j'aime bien l'intérieur de la nouvelle Boxster et surtout le tableau de bord.

Ce qui me rassure c'est que l'évolution de style n'est pas trop catastrophique pour le mien... ouf ! J'aurais juste préféré des phares ronds.

Oui le nouveau Boxster a l'air assez sympa , c'est une bonne nouvelle qu'il soit déjà relooké , mais à quand la version coupée bon sang moi il n'y a que ça qui m'intéresse !

Est-ce vrai que porsche va sortir une version coupé de sa boxter ?
a quel prix et quand ? meme motorisation ?

Y'a eu des topics dessus, je retrouve pas, mais oui, il a d'ailleurs l'air sublime, bien plus que le normal

Pour le 2.7 il fait 240 ch , quant au 3.2 il monte a 280 ch .

Ca pourrait bien faire du tord à la 911 carrera (325 ch mais plus lourde) un boxster S coupé de 280 ch

C'est une super jolie auto, plus élégante même que les autres Porsches. Domage que certains trouverons toujours  le moyen de la considérer comme une porsche au rabais (alors qu'ils roulent eux même en Megane ou en stilo...)

La 996 ressemblait à l'ancien Boxster, le nouveau Boxster ressemble à la 997
L'arrière a peu évolué mais fait plus agressif

C'est tout l'art de porsche , evoluer en douceur meme avec la puissance sachant que le premier boxster faisiat 204 ch on en est a 240 ch et pour le S de 252 ch a 280 ch comme quoi il n'y a pas que la puissance pour faire des voitures performantes et interresantes a conduire .

Au fait j'ai lu quelque part que le PSM (Porsche Stability Management) de la 911 type 997 n'était pas déconnectable. Qu'en est il sur le nouveau Boxster (d'ailleurs quel est le numéro du type, 986 pour l'ancienne) Par contre ce qui est bien c'est que le PSM, la climatisation et l'ordinateur de bord font désormais partis de la dotation de série. De même les jantes des Boxster et Boxster S gagnent une taille avec ce modèle 2005, c'est plus joli D'ailleurs j'adore les jantes 19" en option qui sont celles de la Carrera S type 997

Le PSM (Porsche Stability Management), maintenant de série, se déclenche intentionnellement plus tard, ce qui contribue à une dynamique de conduite encore plus importante.
